Disturbing, but not surprising, stuff from the left

Alert: This is a rant. I make no apologies. Hamsters don't have to.

What is so disturbing about this is that Kareema76@optusnet.com.au is not alone in his/her opinion. His/her opinions reflect many whose anti-Americanism is like a disease, preventing them from objective reasoning as to the Iraq war.

They have never travelled to Iraq. They have never seen the refugee camps in Pakistan. Many have barely stepped out of this country. If they had seen half of what I saw during my time there, there would not give a damn as to the reasons for the US invasion.

For the most part, their hatred of the Iraq war derives largely from anti-Americanism, and not from any genuine concern for the Iraqi people. They build large dossiers of 'evidence' (usually recycled group think - not unlike Chinese whispers) which is perpetuated infinitum.

And yet they are all qualified to speak of that which they don't know. At least, they think they are and groupthink is so rampant within the left that the perpetuation of myth and fantasy is an exponential explosion once it gets going.

Apparently, reading articles on the internet makes them as qualified as those Iraqis living and breathing the hell that was Saddam. More qualified than those those, like me, who have actually given up a stable salary and career to spend time with those less fortunate in some of the most dangerous camps in Northern Pakistan. More qualified that Iraqis like those at Hammorabi who know far more about Iraq and the motives of the US than any of us who aren't right smack in the middle of Falluja.

Kareema76@optusnet.com.au is a sad reflection of the uninformed anti-Americanism that drives the left.

It's a shame as the left has much to offer. In its current form, however, it's virulent anti-Americanism reflects badly on its more palatable platforms.

Here's the hot tip for you guys: You cannot preach peace through preaching hate. Why should anyone believe you want peace, when all you drone on about is hatred of the US.

Give us a break. We're not stupid. Yes the US Government is, at times, selfish and self-serving. Who isn't. Are you altruistic 100% of the time or do you commit acts that benefit yourself and no-one else?

However, if we give more than we take, then the universe balances out our scorecard. The US, in my opinion, has more than balanced its scorecard. It does so much good for so many nations and yet, all the left can dribble on about is 'Bush Lied, Kids Died'? Are you retarded or is your head that far up your ass?

To the brave souls at Hammorabi. Good luck to you. Rest assured that while this rabid, perverse anti-Americanism is on the increase, it is usually only perpetrated by those with little to no power. Treat them like annoying gnats. A necessity of life, but something easily squashed if need be.

  • Great blog and I wish you all the very best with it. I have a blog in a similar subject area that I'd be grateful if you'd check out, if you have time. It has plenty of quality hamster information.
